Good morning!  These are your morning announcements.


Congratulations to ASFA’s vocalists who competed in the statewide National Association of Teachers of Singing on Saturday at UAB.  They had great results:

ASFA will run a special academic schedule tomorrow in order for everyone to attend a schoolwide assembly where author Anthony Ray Hinton will speak in the DJD Theatre at 10 a.m. Hinton has a riveting story about how he spent 30 years incarcerated for a crime he did not commit but was ultimately found innocent and released from prison in 2017.


There are several CW student readings this week. All readings will take place in the ASFA Lecture Hall.

·        Thursday, Feb 27, 3:30 p.m. – 11th Grade Reading: Parker Snellgrove, Myra Grizzard, V. Spencer, Etta Putman

·        Friday, Feb 28, 5:30 p.m. – Senior Reading: Abbe Coulter and Jane Ann Baggett (reception in the lobby to follow)

Attention Students in Grade 11 and Faculty: ACT Test Info


Free ACT Online Prep

Check your ASFA email for instructions for how to access the free ACT practice questions, flashcards, game center, free mobile app for on-the-go reviewing and more paid for by the state to help you prepare for your upcoming ACT test. Email or see Mrs. Kennedy if you have any problems accessing the site.

Gr. 11 Walk to the ACT test site with Mrs. Marble

On Tuesday, March 3 during Homeroom A all juniors will meet in the front lobby at 11:07am to walk with Mrs. Marble to see the test site at the BJCC where they will take the ACT test on March 10. This is a new location and it’s important all juniors walk over to see the location with us so they will know where to go on test day. Students will return at 11:30am. Junior ambassadors please note that Mrs. Little has excused you from the Ambassadors meeting so you can attend the walk.


On Wednesday, March 4, all juniors will report to the Lecture Hall at 10:45am to attend the mandatory pre-gridding session for the upcoming ACT. Bring #2 pencils please (no mechanical pencils). Pre-gridding will be finished in time for juniors to eat lunch and report to 6th period by 12:15pm.


On Tuesday, March 10 all juniors will take the ACT. Students are to report directly to the BJCC North Meeting Room at 7:55am. Testing should conclude around 1:15pm. More details soon.
