GROW OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM WITH ASFA PERFORMANCES

All 2019-2020 ASFA performances and workshops are $5 for students and free for adult chaperones. Free transportation to performances available to schools located in surrounding school districts in Jefferson County on a first come, first served basis. Sign up below!

You can also bring ASFA arts and sciences to your own school! September - November 2019 or January - March 2020. Bring an ASFA musical ensemble, lively dance demonstration, robotics workshop, or an arts fundamentals workshop to your school. Free to schools inside the Jefferson/Shelby County area. Schedule early in the 2019-2020 school year to reserve your spot.

In nine short plays, the audience will see characters explore love and loss in a remote, mythical place. Strangers become friends, friends become lovers and lovers turn into strangers. This play has been called the most produced play in North American high schools, and the best new play written in 2006.

Robotics in Motion
ROBOTICS IN MOTION

Wednesday, Nov. 6 or Feb. 5

Introduction to programming using several robots: Spheros, Lego Mindstorm NXTs, and Edisons. In small groups with ASFA students, students learn to program a robot to navigate a maze, dance, and communicate with other robots. The workshop is a fun way to learn fundamental programming concepts and stimulate interest in computing. Classes are limited to 30 students per session.
